When the mechanism inside the case is wound up, Diana's eyes move, the chariot rolls forward, the two leopards leap, the bird comes forward, and the monkey eats the apple. Once the chariot comes to rest, the goddess shoots her arrow. (Yale University Art Gallery).  Cf. Diana on a centaur.
